Frequently asked questions
What to know before beginning an engagement.
Clear expectations are the first protection against scope creep, delayed delivery, and unclear outcomes.
What does the first conversation cover?
We discuss the decision, reporting problem, financial uncertainty, available data, expected timing, and who will use the final work. The purpose is to determine fit and define the next step.
Are Services and Pricing separate for a reason?
Yes. The Services page explains what each engagement includes and delivers. The Pricing page provides preliminary commercial ranges. Keeping them separate makes both easier to understand and allows pricing to change without rewriting the service explanation.
Do you replace a company’s accountant or bookkeeper?
No. BudgetWorks focuses on forward-looking planning, analysis, models, management reporting, and decision support. Bookkeeping, transaction entry, audit, tax, legal, and investment services are outside scope.
Can you work with our existing finance staff?
Yes. Engagements can supplement a controller, accounting team, department leader, administrator, or executive team. Responsibilities are defined before work begins.
What information will you need?
That depends on the assignment, but it may include budgets, general-ledger reports, financial statements, payroll or staffing data, contracts, capital plans, existing models, and management reports. Only relevant information should be shared.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Daniels BudgetWorks Advisory serves clients remotely across the United States and is available for engagements in Florida and New York. Authorized travel is quoted separately.
How is work outside the scope handled?
Material changes require a written change order. Added work may be quoted as a fixed fee or billed at the applicable hourly rate only after agreement.
Are the prices final?
No. Website prices are preliminary guides. A proposal or engagement letter documents the final scope, client responsibilities, timing, and fees.
